Wood Fired Hot Tub
Our wood-fired hot tub is an Alumitub and seats 6 adults comfortably. The tub takes approximately 3 hours to fill with the hose, and then another 3-4 hours to heat. The fire-starting and watching is a task that is best left to someone with a keen eye for details - they should be sure to familiarize themselves with the “How do Wood Fired Hot Tubs Work” section and video of the Alumitubs website. We have plenty of wood ready to be used for you to keep the fire going! Because it’s wood-burning, the hot tub can not be used during fire bans (June - October). Check the Mayne Island burning restrictions before you come - Note that Mayne Island has it’s own set of rules that don’t always align with the Province of BC.
Electric Sauna
Our barrel sauna is a Nootka sauna, manufactured in British Columbia with locally-sourced, select tight knot Western Red Cedar. They use sustainably sourced second-growth cedar, and our sauna seats 6 adults. Because it’s electric, the sauna can be used all year long. Download the app to use the controls and get it ready for your early morning session from the comfort of the bedroom.
Fire Pit
We love spending time sitting around our fire pit in the late evening and into the night. It’s a lovely place to gather when the weather gets cooler, and great backdrop to the hot tub ;-) Note that the fire pit can not be used during the Gulf Island fire ban (June - October). Check the Mayne Island burning restrictions before you come - Note that Mayne Island has it’s own set of rules that don’t always align with the Province of BC.
